Push-ups, Squats, and a healthy dose of clickbait!

“What anime character would be your workout buddy?”

I’ve actually worked out on and off for some time. On and off, being the key here, so it’s not as impressive as I’d like. Still, having a workout buddy absolutely helps motivate you to keep going strong, and if there was any one anime character I would choose, it’d have to be Saitama. One Punch Man’s OP may seem underwhelming, but beneath that plain, dispassionate face is a hidden determination backed by godly levels of power.

But you guys already knew that.

The series turns Saitama’s training ‘secret’ into a comedic tool, but the strength to follow through a hundred reps of push-ups, sit-ups, squats, and a 10 km run is no joke. And though I’m not working out in hopes of the same absurd power, I definitely appreciate that dedication. That same dedication will drive me to workout consistently alongside a self-proclaimed “hero for fun” who went through that grueling routine.

And without air conditioning, no less!

Though he may not be the teaching type, Saitama does show a moderate amount of patience and care throughout the show. It would help to have a hero run through my form and routine – something that’s essential if I don’t want to cripple myself. And hey! I don’t even have to worry about people looking at me at the gym.

They’ll be too busy watching Saitama do his reps.
