I’d hate him more if I wasn’t so busy crying.

This is my first journey through the “100 Days of Anime” Challenge, an ambitious project that I’ll be taking. For the full list of prompts, click here.

“Name an anime character you hate.”

This guy. THIS GUY. I only knew him as “That one fat noble” during my first watch through so many years back. And though I may not remember his name, the memories of what he did throughout the show are enough to start a rebellion all on its own.

Besides, I’m too spiteful to write down his name anyways.

His long list of atrocities: manipulation, torture, and cannibalism to name a few, were absolutely horrifying to me. At this point in time, I’d never truly understood what having a vulnerable main cast was like. Sure his deeds were sickening to the core, but the heroes always come through in the end. With naivete and a false hope as my shield, I quickly reached the finale; only to watch as that perverted man leave the audience with one final parting gift before succumbing to his fate. His manipulation ended up causing so many tragedies, yet…

It was unfair. A bittersweet ending that I couldn’t even call a victory.
